Acne
Acne is a common skin condition normally characterized by blackheads, whiteheads, and possibly areas of inflammation with the presence of papules, pustules, or cysts. It occurs most commonly during the teenage years; however people of any age can have acne. Acne is most common on the face, chest, and back. We can utilize the full range of acne therapies from topicals to Accutane and spironolactone. It is important to treat aggressively to prevent or minimize facial scarring.
Benign Lesions
Benign lesions are non-cancerous bumps or growths on the skin. There are many different types of benign lesions, and a lot of them are very common. When you visit, we will want to examine any suspicious skin lesions for possible skin cancer. We can give you guidelines on how to tell the difference between a benign lesion and a cancerous lesion. If your lesion is benign, we can discuss the cosmetic impact of a possible removal.
Botox Cosmetic
BOTOX® injections are safe and one of the most common and effective treatments for removing unwanted wrinkles from the forehead, eyebrows, and areas around the eyes and mouth. Although this is a temporary result, injections can last for up to 6-months.
Broken Facial Blood Vessels
Broken facial blood vessels are generally enlarged capillaries, which commonly occurs with chronic sun exposure and sun damage. They can also develop from irritation or be a sign of more serious health problems. Treatment may be possible after an accurate diagnosis.
Cosmetic Needs
We offer non-invasive cosmetic options for our patients. When you arrive we can discuss your cosmetic concerns and find something that works for you.
Cysts, Moles & Tags
Cysts, moles, and tags can all be very annoying for the affected person. While they generally are considered normal to a certain extent, they can become injured or irritated. Depending on their location, they can also be embarrassing or make you self-conscious. We can check for a possible skin cancer and treat those accordingly. If your lesion is benign, we can discuss the cosmetic impact of a possible removal.
Eczema
Eczema is an itchy, irritating, and sometimes totally frustrating skin condition. Some people are more susceptible than others. It is sometimes called “the itch that rashes” because the itching can often drive a scratching process that maintains and worsens this particular type of skin inflammation. There are many possible causes including genetic factors, irritations, allergies, and excessive dryness of the skin.
Facial Dry Skin
Facial Dry Skin is very common and goes by numerous names like sensitive skin, combination skin, combination complexion, mixed complexion, dual skin type, skin with oily and dry areas, skin with multiple needs, oily T-zone, facial irritation, intermediate skin, chapstick addiction, and lip balm addiction. All are associated with unusually intensive use of moisturizers or lip balms. Sometimes topical steroids are used on the face which then eventually lead to steroid side effects. Dr Hu has extensive experience with this set of conditions and will be able to help.
Freckles & Birthmarks
Almost everyone knows what a freckle or birthmark is. Both of these are common, and many people have them. Freckles are a kind of sun damage, and the reason why some people have them and others don’t is simply how sensitive they are to UV damage. People who have skin that freckles easily should always be very cautious about how much sun they get, and go to extra lengths to protect their skin.
Hair & Scalp Problems
Many people have hair or scalp problems, everything from having an itchy scalp to hair loss. With proper diagnosis, many of these problems can be treated, so that you can feel more confident about your appearance. Learn More about Scalp Psoriasis

Skin Cancer
Overexposure to the sun is the number one reason for skin cancer. Fortunately, most skin cancers are quite treatable, especially if caught early. Whenever possible, we use minimally invasive surgical treatments to minimize scarring. Since prevention and early treatment gives the best results, it is important to look at any lesion you think might be suspicious. As always, it is important to address any skin problem or concern, and to have it professionally looked at.
Wrinkles, Age Spots & Sun Spots
While there are a large number of people who suffer from one, or all three of these things, they can be emotionally devastating to some individuals. All of these things are often associated with the passage of time and losing one’s youth, which can cause that person to feel self-conscious about them. Some treatment options are available for these issues, so that you can feel more like yourself.
